New site for ‘Karrierekanonen’

The Project

Since 2002 Karrierekanonen has been a platform where musician could upload their music and potentially be discovered by the music industry. Karrierekanonen needed a new site that could help focus on the talent developing and communicating that Karrierekanonen is not only a closed community but is open for anybody who wants to get their music out in the world.

On of the main constraints was that the new site for Karrierekanonen should fit into the structure that was already on dr.dk which is a news-site and mainly build on articles.

 

RESULT

Based on the insights that the site needed to change depending on the different stages in the contest the new site was build by different modules. The editor of KarriereKanonen is now able to move around the modules depending on the stage of the contest and the overall focus in Karrierekanonen. This results in much more clear communication to both the artists and the users interested in listening to new music.

Different stages during the year

After stakeholder workshops it became clear that Karrierekanonen has different stages during the year: before the ‘contest’ begin, when the ‘contest’ is on and the ‘low’ period in between where new articles are rare and the focus should be on the uploaded music.

The different stages needed to communicate different things to the users and the focus on the site differentiated.

 
 

With a low budget and a limited time frame I created quick sketches to communicate with the designer in the project. Based on these sketches the designer created the different page types that I could use in a prototype. I used Google Forms to get quick user feedback to make sure that the communication was clear and understandable but also to access which modules would give the most value to the user.
