The Project

EDC is the largest real estate agency in Denmark and edc.dk is one of the most popular websites in Denmark and the project was to redesign the website. This involved a new information architecture, new case overview, theme pages and a new “MitEDC”.

The approach was to understand the dialogue between the customers and the real estate agents and to understand the underlying needs when searching for a new place to live.

 

RESULT

Based on the field studies and user interviews I developed four UX principle that was used to guide the design choices, that we made. The principles made it clear that the new edc.dk should work as a tool for the users. Where the focus was to support the browsing behavior that the users have and letting the user get a quick overview of the house before diving deeper into it.

Different stages during the year

After stakeholder workshops it became clear that Karrierekanonen has different stages during the year: before the ‘contest’ begin, when the ‘contest’ is on and the ‘low’ period in between where new articles are rare and the focus should be on the uploaded music.

The different stages needed to communicate different things to the users and the focus on the site differentiated.

 
 

With a low budget and a limited time frame I created quick sketches to communicate with the designer in the project. Based on these sketches the designer created the different page types that I could use in a prototype. I used Google Forms to get quick user feedback to make sure that the communication was clear and understandable but also to access which modules would give the most value to the user.
